Not surprisingly, his work centers on contradictions and comedy.
Becoming a Man in 127 Easy Steps is the last installment of an autobiographical performance trilogy, a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure solo work combining aerial acrobatics and multimedia storytelling for an unrepeatable evening of gender exploration. Literally: in just the way human beings unconsciously choose how we see gender based on our own cultural cues, audiences for this show choose Schofield's narrative path from female-to-male, choosing what stories they will hear, step-by-step.

I Am Woman

Here is a BBC Radio documentary discussion of feminism through music. She explains some of the tangled complexities of the women's movement, with particular emphasis on the entertainment industry. Music business executives and artists including Spice Girl Mel C, K.D. Lang and Tracy Chapman share their experiences as women working in the record industry.Mariella also examines the so-called First, Second and Third Waves of feminism – from it's early beginnings in the 19th Century, to the bra burning and radical feminism of the 1960s and 70s to the "Girl Power" devotees of the 1990s.
